DIVINE GUARD

 

O mind

Your Divine Mother has granted you the position of guard

    and has set you on the hill of devotion

        overlooking the pond of childlike innocence

 

As She has instructed you,

    you must be vigilant and awake

        never allowing the habitual stream

            of endless thoughts

                to lull you to sleep

 

Watch carefully your Mother's clear blue pond

    of empty blissful being

 

And if the thirsty animals

    of desire, anger, greed, jealousy, attachment or pride

        come to drink

            they will steal away the waters of your innocence

 

If they come you must jump up and down

    and wave your arms like a wild person

        all the while shouting your Mother's name

            with all of the force and bravado you can muster

 

Your Mother will come quickly

    blowing her pearly conch shell of Divine Truth

        to scare them away
