We hope you will be able to attend Amma's program this fall either in
Michigan or San Ramon.
Most of you are probably aware that all of Amma's programs are run purely by
Grace and the selfless efforts of people like you and I. A public program
usually requires 253 volunteers and a Devi Bhava program requires 565
volunteers (based on data from last year's Michigan programs). Many a time,
volunteers have to run departments round the clock (well, almost considering
the hours of the programs) which is extremely fatiguing.
We would truly appreciate it if you could help us host Amma and make Amma's
darshan to all the thousands of people coming to see Her a beautiful, sweet
and smooth one.
If you can help-out please consider the following questions and we would
love to hear from you.
Questionnaire
1) Will you be attending all days of Amma's program, including retreat?
2) Will you be able to be a team coordinator? (May require being at position
for whole program ie. morning or evening or 2 hour shifts)
3) Or would you would prefer to help on an as needed basis?
4) What kind of sevas have you done before?
5) What kind of sevas would you like to help in?
6) Do you prefer Mornings, Afternoons or Evenings; or Before, Between or
After
programs?
7) What languages do you speak?
8) Specify physical limitations, eg. cannot sit on the floor, cannot stand
for
an hour, etc.
List of seva depts are as follows:
O HALL SET-UP - to help setup on the 12th and the down on the 17th after
Devi
Bhava
0 Greeters - to greet people as they arrive
O TOKENS - to distribute tokens and man the token table. Lots of help needed
the night of Devi Bhava
o DEVI BHAVA Set-up - Lots of help needed to help setup Devi Bhava & control
lines
q FLOWER SHOP - at the flower table, arrange for petalling, fetching flowers
from darshan area
q HALL CLEANUP - Cleanup, vacuuming during & after programs
q CHILD CARE (ages 4-8) - help watch children, do little activities
** All parents are required to sign up for an hour a program
q PRE-TEEN (ages 10-12) - help coordinate activities for pre-teens.

q TEEN (ages 13-20) - help conduct small workshops for teens, like art,
henna,
pottery, braiding etc
q KITCHEN SEVAS
O PURCHASING & BULK FOOD - weighing materials for cooks
O KITCHEN SEVA DESK - work with kitchen depts & main seva desk to
recruit
sevites
O VEGGIE PREP - wash & chop vegetables
O CLEAN-UP
§ POT & PANS
§ DINING AREA - vacuum, clean dining areas
O DINING ROOM
§ FOOD MOVING - moving heavy pots from kitchen to dining area
SNACK SHOP
Indian & Western - help sell & stock snack shop. Communicate with Cooks
