parts to various indigenous tribal customs.

the effect of "being too much in the head", as we say. Eastern influences
have blessed the West so much on this issue. I remember several decades ago
hearing a Tibetan Buddhist teacher say, "The primary mind is in the heart."

This became clearer to this child after spending a little time at Amma's
ashram.

And want to reiterate the point I've made on this list before: not all
people can be fit easily into gender classifications. Some are born with
"ambiguous genitalia." And they'll be the first to tell you how crazy modern
culture is when it comes to gender distinctions.
