Namaste to my darling sisters and brothers!!
i would like to thank Sucetas mon for posting
those chapters from Sri Aurobindo's "The Mother".
i had read it a few years ago and occasionally
gone thru some of it again, but in my mind it had
been more associated with Mother Meera at the
time, as it was a recommended book from
Meeramma's group in Germany...One of the main
books in fact...(in 1994-95...not sure about
now)...In fact as i understand, it is Meeramma,
(Who i love very much, Who first answered my
calls to Yogananda's Divine Mother (and mine of
course!!)...i only say His because it was His
picture and His advice...and He was inextricably
linked in there with Her....in my mind at
least)...So Meeramma is considered to be carrying
on the work of Sri Aurobindo in "bringing down
the Light of the Superconcious" at least as i
understand it....actually, perhaps, Sri Aurobindo
was the way shower....who came before the
Incarnation...(although the Mother at his ashram
was also considered an incarnation of the Divine
Mother as far as i know)...Thus Mother Meera came
to fulfill his teachings and take them
further....
.....There are so many great masters and they
are inspiring to us whether we are Amma's
children or not, and whether THEY may appear to
be connected with Amma or not......actually i
feel that often Amma is teaching us thru these
other teachers too....we have only to, as Amma
says,"Keep what's valuable, what we need, and
throw away the rest!"
i found rereading it with Amma in mind was an
excellent "satsang"...i loved it...and could see
what you meant, Sucetas, about how it described
Her so Perfectly.....(Mother Meera
too!!....Amma's Sister Mahavidya)...Durga and
Kali at once!!!what a blessing....of course this
only happens according to the Devi Mahatmyam,
when the world is overrun with Rakshasas, and the
Devi has to take a birth to protect Her children,
and destroy the wicked....
Just like Krsna, the Devi has promised Her
children that whenever righteousness declines,
and the Rakshasas are running Bhudevi into a big
mess....when She Herself, (Bhudevi...Mother
Earth) is groaning under the demonic weight and
praying for relief, then the Devi will incarnate
to set things aright...the exact same promise
which Sri Krsna has made.....in fact as i
understand it, according to the Sakta philosophy,
Sri Krsna and all the great incarnations
including Christ are actually the incarnations of
the Supreme Power...the Adi Para Sakti....the
Devi...the Mother...just as Amma has said...
Paramahansa Yoganandaji for example is
considered by His devotees to be a
"Premavatar"....an Incarnation of Supreme Divine
Love....and guess dear ones, what his Jaimini
Atmakaraka (soul indicator) is........
go on.....try to guess....no looking at His chart
now!!!!......anybody got the answer???
Paramahansaji's Atmakaraka is VENUS....the
indicator of Divine Love, Prema, and an
embodiment of Divine Mother...Venus is Sri
Laksmi, or
Sri Lalithambike...(for whom are sung the Sri
Lalithasahasranamam at Amma's ashram, and by
enthusiastic devotees everywhere.....)....
i have been told by one SRF friend, that a
senior monk in California described to him a
vision he had, in which Divine Mother appeared to
him, and blessed him, and told him that his
Gurudeva, Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji, had merged
with Her....(i think He was always Merged with
Her...as the Atmakaraka is Venus...Her)
Another very long time devotee told me
recently (i hope Jyotsna doesn't mind me sharing
this!) that Amma had said to an SRF friend of
hers, that "Yogananda was a ray of Me"...
(thus an incarnation of Divine Mother....in the
form of Love....and that's why He has had such a
longlasting and beneficial effect upon America...
His Divine, Loving Presence, is just as alive
today as 50 years ago and still carrying out His
Mother's Work...bringing the children to
Her...and that's just to show you the power of
Love and renunciation....and inspiration by the
Divine Mother....Amma.... This is not meant as a
"sell job" for Paramahansaji, (although He is
VERY dear to me)...so much as a wondering about
the vastness of our Amma's Planning.....
She made Sure that Paramahansaji took birth in
1893....some months before the World Parliament
of Religions in Chicago...at which, was another
of Her Beloved Sons....Swami
Vivekanandaji...(HE'S AMMA's first Swami-mon to
America isn't He??... Paramahansaji was the
Second....)...as you can tell i'm kind of
rambling here....
So the Mother took birth as Sri Ramakrsna in
1836...and His Divine Spouse, Sri Sarada Devi in
1853, and then the whole band of gypsies gathered
around their Beloved "Father"...they often
thought of Him as Father...or
Lord.."Thakur"...although He wouldn't permit
anyone to address him as such...nor would He
allow anyone to take pictures of Him (unless in
samadhi, when He couldn't stop them!)...there are
only Four "official" photos of him....as compared
to thousands and thousands of Amma....When He
later saw one of them while in a high state, He
mused that the picture was of a very high yogic
state....and that this picture would eventually
be worshipped all over the world, including in
America and England....He had in samadhi gone
there and had seen this Himself....and it's
literally true today....a century later....His
picture is all over America as well as
India...Just like Amma's!!!
He wouldn't accept the role of Guru either,
saying that only Satchidananda was the Guru....
Out of this exceptional band of young men
devotees stood even taller than the rest, that
beautiful-voiced, dashing, royal Bengal Tiger of
renunciation, Narendranath....His "favourite",
one of the Sapta-Rishis, who had been meditating
way up above the DevaLokas...all the
planes...when Sri Ramakrsna saw in vision, this
playful little boy, so sweet, and beautiful, so
loving and kind, go playfully up to the
meditating Rishi....and tugging on him and
calling him, managed to get his attention....the
boy said in his sweetly charming voice: "See, i
am going down....do you want to come along?" the
Rishi blissfully nodded his assent and the vision
dissolved as the boy disappeared down thru the
levels, the different Lokas....to
Earth.....whereupon Sri Ramakrsna realised that
He himself was the boy and Naren, (Swami
Vivekanandaji) was the Rishi... He predicted that
when Naren remembered who He really was, that He
would soon drop the body....and merge...which is
exactly what happened several years later after
Swamiji had completed His missions in Europe and
America. He left this world before His 39th
birthday.....(He had diabetes and it made his
life very difficult)...
Sri Ramakrsna made sure that Naren would
forget who he was tho, until he had finished the
job entrusted to him by the Divine Mother Kali,
thru Sri Ramakrsna....in fact Naren said later,
that after the moment when the Master had looked
intently at him, and passed all his power to him
(just days before the Master attained
Mahasamadhi) and then said that He had given
Naren everything...from that moment Naren had no
peace....the Mother, had really openly "taken
over" his body (he said She had entered him thru
Sri Ramakrsna's Gaze...)and from then on He was a
"puppet" in Her hands....until years later, upon
receiving Her grace, and remembering who He was,
He dropped the body a few days later...So Naren
was doing Mother's work in America too...as Swami
Vivekanandaji...He even openly admitted that He
was the Mother's own...and that She had worn him
right out....
As well, there is a famous story in the
Autobiography of a Yogi, wherein (told later by
SRF after Yogananda's passing, i think, as a
footnote), a young boy had fallen into a mill
pond and was drowning (about five years old) and
suddenly this Man appeared in a flash of light
and saved him....Twelve years later in 1893 the
now young man was walking with his mother in
Chicago, when again he saw the flash of
light...and this man was walking down the
sidewalk in front of them....he felt that it was
the man who had rescued him so long ago...and
they followed him to a hall, wherein they all
went....the man went to the front and delivered a
rousing speech on Vedanta....it was Swami
Vivekanandaji....the boy and his mother, overcome
with love for this great Saint, stayed afterwards
for a word with Him...The first thing he said to
the boy was that he should be careful of mill
ponds....so the boy KNEW that this was the
man...and voice choking with emotion asked
Swamiji to be his teacher....
Swamiji regretfully declined with the words
that He was not the boy's Guru, and that the
boy's Guru would be coming after some time...The
boy would be able to recognize the Guru by a
silver cup that the Guru would give him.....
Seventeen years later Yoganandaji arrived in
America, and when the boy (now a middleaged man)
heard of him, he joined the devotees....and felt
that this was the Guru promised to him so long
ago in 1893...but no cup....then in 1935-6 when
Yoganandaji went to Europe, and India and then
returned, He brought a lot of presents back for
His beloved devotees in America...and distributed
them at Christmas in 1936......and He gave the
man whose story we are telling....you guessed
it....a silver cup....fulfilling Swami-mon #1's
prediction of FORTY-THREE years before....
Thus Swami Vivekananda already in 1893 knew of
Paramahansaji's coming in 1920...and the SILVER
CUP of 1936....even though Paramahansaji was only
SIX months old at the time....What has all this
to do with Amma you ask.....EVERYTHING....Who do
you think is the Mother Kali Who sent Vivekananda
to America and Europe....Who arranged it so well
for Paramahansaji to come to America....and bring
Her eternal message to the West....Mother Kali
was letting us know even then, that She had Her
Beautiful Eyes set upon America....and
Europe....and that She planned on coming
West...So She sent those two way-clearers, and
news-bringers to us so that there would be some
preparation for Her Advent.....
None of these "connections" surprise me at
all, for one can feel it from both of them,
Vivekanandaji, and Yoganandaji, without being
told....it was Their Divine Mother that i called
so lovingly and tearfully, and it was AMMA who
answered, and it is AMMA who IS that very
Mother.....to hear those wonderful corroborations
from my dear sisters and brothers only deepens
the faith, and the love that i hold for Them as
the Mother's First Swamis in America.....Yes.
Mother's first Swami-mon was Vivekanandaji, and
Her second Swami-mon in America, in my view, was
Paramahansa Yoganandaji.....She arranged it
all...and They prepared the way...like John the
Baptist....we in America had never heard of
Divine Mother (other than Mother Mary!) before
those Beloved Sons of Amma (Mother Bhavatarini
Kali) were sent to America in 1893 and in 1920
to prepare the way!!!!
SRI GURU KI JAI!!!
My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the
True Gurus everywhere, who labour unceasingly for
the uplift of the entire world....
My most humble salutations to that SatGuru,
Satchidananda, (Being,consciousness,bliss) Who
showers the Divine Grace upon the Children, and
graciously consents to take a body from time to
time to remind us, and to bring us across the
fearful ocean of delusion, of Samsara.....Home to
Her beloved Lap...
